Full disclosure: I was not drunk while driving, I’m only drunk while posting.
Fuller disclosure: I’ve never driven or even sat in a 2018 Wrangler. I’ve only glanced through an article/review of the Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited in a magazine that arrived at my house today
Fullest disclosure: I stopped glancing at the article/review when I saw the as-tested price
$53 k for a Wrangler ? Let me say that again, since you probably didn’t comprehend it the first time through. You can walk into a Jeep dealer and purchase a fifty three thousand dollar Wrangler.
Pros - ???
Cons - fifty three thousand frickin’ dollars
Conclusion - buy an Audi RS3

You can also buy a 55 grand Toyota Supra. I do agree with your conclusion, an RS3 is almost always the answer...except when it’s Miata

I was curious, base rubicon to base rubicon.
$24,995 in 2003 should be $34k today. They got a bit mor e expensive.
4 door, hardtops, bumpers, etc. are all options.

Thus making the used Jeep market even more insane.

For USD$53,000 = GBP£42,000.
I could get a BMW X5 for that.
Jaguar F-Pace
Ford Ranger Wildtrak (DV8 Works)
Toyota Land Cruiser

An Audi RS3 can’t do the Rubicon trail though...

If you’ve ever driven one, you’ll know why they are so expensive. They are nice on-road, comfortable, and still something no one else offers, top off driving.
Then you take them off road, and they are amazing. Moab, sand dunes, forest trails, doesn’t matter. The shit you can throw at them that they take and laugh off is ridiculous .

Hard hitting auto journalism at its best. I’m glad
you took the time to do some serious research.
